HFK was invited to give a presentation at Sunset Elementary School earlier this month. The timing was perfect, as Fr. Theo was visiting from Congo and had the opportunity to interact with the children. We played videos and showed pictures portraying life in Kasai, and the majority of the children were deeply moved by what they saw. Towards the end of our presentation, we had a question and answer session, and boy did the kids have questions! Most of them were amazed at the way these children lived, at the lack of material goods and basic necessities, and at the fact that despite all they lacked, they had so much joy. The children's questions were thought provoking and displayed their desire to help, and Fr. Theo was all too happy to answer their questions and address their concerns.
