TRIP TO KASAï ORIENTAL
The Hope for Kasai team traveled to Africa to deliver all of the goods collected and donated for the children. We were able to get to know the region better and share memories with the kids for ten days. One step closer to our goal, we placed the first stone for the Maternity Room in the village of Mpiana!
FROM MIAMI TO AFRICA
We were able to raise over $7,000 in honor of our President's birthday with 7000 Birthday Wishes for Any! Kids for Kasai in Miami, Florida, also organized an all-day event to create dresses for the girls in Democratic Republic of Congo. They were able to make 173 dresses and ship them to make a difference.
School supplies donated by the families of Saint Theresa School, Coral Gables, Florida, were sent to the children of Kasai!
SMG also donated 175 pairs of sandals which were delivered to the children in January.
COMPLETION OF THE MATERNITY ROOM
The maternity room in Mpiana is slowly growing and continues to be the hub of healthy newborn babies in this region. Thanks to our sponsors, as well as to St. Theresa Catholic School, the maternity room is now bigger and has tiled floors! It also has a delivery bed for mothers to be more comfortable and 10 beds for those that are guests pre and post giving birth. Thanks to Gulliver Academy the maternity room now has 2 bicycles that facilitate transportation to access water.
